Charity concert for Lawyer’s Day: UzhNU students and teachers combined celebration with good deeds

The funds raised during the event were used to support the Ukrainian military.

In October, Ukrainian lawyers celebrate their professional day. The Law Faculty of UzhNU could not stand aside from such an event and recently organized an unforgettable festive event together with the student trade union committee, the student council of the university, and sponsors.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the fallen Ukrainian heroes.

The celebrations were hosted by Bogdan Sklyarov, a fourth-year law student and head of the student union, and Dmitry Ignatishch, a graduate of the department.

The event was attended by Roman Saray, Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, Professor Oleksandr Rohach, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work at UzhNU, Mariana Marusynets, Director of the Department of Education, Science, Youth, and Sports of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Gorzov, Regional Coordinator of the Western Interregional Administration of the Ministry of Justice, and other guests.

In his welcoming speech, Professor Yaroslav Lazur, Dean of the Faculty of Law at UzhNU, noted that the tradition of holding a charity concert on Lawyer’s Day has been bringing students and teachers together for many years. He thanked everyone for participating in this good cause and wished them all a good mood.

The chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, Roman Saray, congratulated the teachers and students of the law faculty on their professional holiday and awarded the employees of the department with certificates of honor and letters of appreciation for their significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of law, for their conscientious work, and on the occasion of their professional holiday.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work at UzhNU, Professor Oleksandr Rohach, conveyed greetings from the rectorate and presented certificates to active members of the faculty for their initiative, hard work, and contribution to the development of the university community.

The event program was rich and varied. The audience enjoyed dance and vocal performances by law students, as well as a youth comedy show featuring teams of first- and fourth-year students.

During the concert, two fashion shows were held featuring Ukrainian brands—wedding dresses and embroidered dresses, which added sophistication and national flavor to the evening.

Родзинкою ж свята став виступ секретного зіркового гостя – стендапера Івана Боня, який подарував глядачам море позитивних емоцій.

Organizing a charity concert for Lawyer’s Day is a complex and multifaceted process that required coordinated teamwork and a clear division of responsibilities. Therefore, the students of the Faculty of Law joined forces and actively worked on various aspects of the preparation.

As Bohdan Sklyarov emphasized: “At first glance, organizing a large-scale concert may seem like an extremely difficult task. However, careful planning, clear distribution of responsibilities, and well-coordinated teamwork make it possible to realize even the most ambitious ideas. Special thanks to the faculty management — Dean Yaroslav Lazur and Deputy Dean Iryna Khokhlova — for their support and trust. Special words of gratitude go to the enthusiastic students, without whom the event would not have been so bright, emotional, and unforgettable.”

A special feature of this wonderful tradition of the Faculty of Law in recent years is that all funds raised during the evening are directed to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the concert, anyone could make a contribution to support our defenders by donating from their phone. In addition, there was a charity auction where guests competed for gifts: whoever made the largest contribution became the winner. Of particular interest was the “122nd caliber” lot, donated by the military from the front lines as a token of sincere gratitude to those who support the defenders of Ukraine.

We have no doubt that this vibrant event left a lasting impression on those in attendance. Once again, our youth proved that they know how to combine fun with good deeds. Because when entertainment becomes charity, it is no longer just a celebration, it is a ray of light shining for those who defend our peace.
